FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police have cleared a parking lot where Local 10 News previously found registered sex offenders and sexual predators staying under probation supervision.
One person was arrested and others were given trespass warnings during the recent police operation at a shopping center in the 2400 block of North Federal Highway.
But while the parking lot is now cleared, the underlying problem remains.
Where are people subject to Florida’s strict sex offender residency restrictions supposed to go when they have nowhere else they can legally stay?
…

This isn’t just Florida, it’s every state. Please make it make sense.
US governments at all levels have provoked so much hatred against PFRs that they know they can’t solve this, so they’ll just continue to ignore it.
Awww, dear me. Are people mad the registrant was there and not under Julia Tuttle Causeway?
…
ForeverDumb aka Florida get rid of residency restrictions and put away your scorched earth bills/laws that cause more problems than solutions. Your beloved registry and other sex offense laws are nothing but modern day slavery that needs to be abolished.
This has been going on all over the United States since 2006 when failure to register became a felony. Florida can’t keep this up forever. The truth is Florida makes a lot of money off there prison system, every registry is another dollar in their pocket. I was watching this court trial the other day 5 young guys were facing the death penalty for killing a famous Florida rapper and as their families and everybody we’re pleading for their lives the warden of a Florida prison came up and spoke to the court and said please don’t give them the death penalty because these 5 guys have “SWET EQUALITY” and in Florida when you get a life sentence, you never get out.
The same can be said about the Florida registry once you hit the registry in Florida you’re never getting out.
